A tiara can be a perfect complimenting piece to your bridal gown on your wedding day. Here are a few tips to help with your choice:
- Always choose your dress first and then it will be easier to choose your accessories.
- Never choose a tiara simply based on how good it looks on a model or in a picture, unless you have the same shape of face and plan to wear the same hair style as that model - both of which will affect how the tiara will look on you.
- The size of your tiara should match the proportions of your face; you may be surprised, but going for a subtle look may not mean picking from the smallest or thinnest of styles.
- If you have a rounder face and want to lengthen the look of your face, select a tiara with a little height, or one that will peak in the centre. If you have a long or oval-shaped face, select a tiara that does not have a peak in the centre.
- Remember that when you purchase a tiara, it will come to you in a horse-shoe shape that WILL NOT fit the shape of your head. Your hair stylist will shape the tiara to fit how they will do your hair and if you have your tiara available for your hair trial, bring it along.
- And finally, know that it is okay to wear a tiara WITH a veil if you choose, although some stylists have been known to recommend one or the other. How your tiara and veil look together has everything to do with your hairstyle, the style and shape of both the tiara and veil, as well as your dress style.
