WELCOME, PLUS SIZED BRIDES!
After your engagement ring, your dress is the most spectacular purchase that you will make for your wedding. At some point in every little girl's life, she wonders what that special dress will be, and whether your dream is for the Cinderella ball gown or a simple a-line dress it just has to be perfect.
But the perfect dress is just not the same unless it fits you perfectly and you feel great wearing it!
YOUR MEASUREMENTS
At JenniferScott Bridal, because our dresses are made to order, we can accommodate most any size gown to your specific body type. Our convenient sizing selections allow you to order your dress based on your measurements. No more ordering a size 20, and hope it is really a size 20! Our formal wear dresses come in standard sizes 2-32, and our bridal gowns have standard sizing to size 24, and custom-sized options dresses for size 26+. Whether you are a size 20 or a size 50, we can tailor a dress to fit you!
CHOOSING THE RIGHT STYLE
Every woman's body is different, and for plus-sized brides, those differences can sometimes be accented in ways that make the right wedding dress difficult to find. Our dress styles are designed to accommodate a wide range of body types.
If you really want to ensure that there are no surprises, consider purchasing a dress with a corset back. The advantage to a corset back is that it allows you to have more flexibility on that day in case you feel like you need just a little more, or maybe even a little less room. Also, consider ordering an extra yard or two of your dress fabric so that when you get your dress, you can bring it to your local seamstress and have the back panel widened that fits behind the corset tie of your dress if required. This is a great way to ensure that your size 22 dress can loosen to a 24 if you need a little extra room in your upper torso area.
If you find a dress that you love with a zipper back, in most cases, you can select to custom order the design with a corset back for you. Our designers may need to make slight modifications to the seams and design in the back of the dress to allow for an open panel.
CONFIDENT & SECURE
Finally, when you receive your dress, try it on in the comfort of your own home with your family and friends to help you (because everyone needs help working a wedding dress!). Avoid intimidating bridal shops and uncomfortable fittings, and share your dress with the world when you are ready.
And most important - feel beautiful on your day!
